Resident gets time in jail for cocaine

ESCANABA - A Delta County man, charged with possession of cocaine, was sentenced to 10 months in the county jail during a hearing in Delta County Circuit Court Thursday.

Gordon Lloyal Todd, 50, of Wells, pleaded guilty to possession of less than 25 grams of cocaine, second or subsequent offense. Another charge of delivery/manufacturing less than 50 grams of cocaine was previously dismissed.

Todd was operating a motorcycle Oct. 16 in Masonville Township when he was stopped for speeding by a Michigan State Police trooper from Gladstone. He was arrested on the cocaine charges and a license violation. After being lodged in Delta County Jail, he later posted a $1,000 cash bond and was released.

Todd was also sentenced Thursday to one day in jail for driving while license suspended or revoked, second or subsequent offense. Both sentences are to be served concurrently. He was given credit for one day served in jail.

Todd was ordered to pay $651 in fines and costs. His drivers license was suspended for 60 days and restricted for 305 days. The court ordered the vehicle used in the offense be immobilized or forfeited.
