GLADSTONE - Shawn Joseph Starnes and Jennifer Lynn Norkooli were united in marriage on Oct. 23 during a 1 p.m. ceremony that took place at First Lutheran Church in Gladstone. Pastor Jonathan M. Schmidt presided.
A reception followed at the Flat Rock Town Hall.
The bride selected her sister, Lauren Norkooli, to serve as her maid of honor. Bridesmaids were: Lindsey Pepin, Rachel Treptow and DeAnne Haslow, all friends of the bride; and Jaylene Broeders, cousin of the bride. MacKenzie Parish, daughter of the bride, was the miniature bride.

Best man for his father was Ory Starnes. Groomsmen were Bob Hughey and Ed Hamill, both friends of the groom; and Paul Derouin Jr. and Brandon Starnes, nephews of the groom. Riley Starnes, son of the groom, was the miniature groom.
Flower girl and ring bearers were Rianna Ansell, niece of the bride, and Hunter and Cody Pepin. Serving as usher was Hunter Starnes, son of the groom.
Jennifer is the daughter of Thomas Norkooli of Rock and Amber Norkooli of Gladstone. A 1997 graduate of Mid Peninsula High School, the bride received an associate's degree in nursing in 2005 from Bay de Noc Community College. The new Mrs. Starnes is employed as a registered nurse in the Special Care Unit at OSF St. Francis Hospital.
Shawn is a 1990 graduate of Escanaba High School. He is the son of Robert and Mary Starnes of Escanaba and is employed at Pardon as a machinist.
The newlyweds are at home in Gladstone.
