During the meeting, board members listened to a construction update from Jake Golden of Wolgast Construction.
Golden said all footings and foundations for the multi-purpose room and new band room (located to the north of the high school) are complete, with block work and some steel construction now underway.
Golden said bid packets for work at Lemmer Elementary are expected to be turned in today and the results will be presented to the board at its next meeting.
When work begins at Lemmer Elementary, some asbestos abatement will be done when floor tiles are removed from the hallway and office areas, said Golden.
"Currently, so long as the tiles remain static (undisturbed) there is no need for concern. It is only when we begin work this summer that abatement will need to be completed," explained Golden.
