Nicholas ‘Mic’ Kolich

ESCANABA - Nicholas "Mic" Kolich, 56, 1425 3rd Ave N. Escanaba, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, Feb. 12, 2011, at St. Francis Hospital following injuries received from a four-wheeler accident.

He was born on May 11, 1954 in Escanaba, the son of Joseph and Shirley (Beauchamp) Kolich. At the age of 11, he moved to Oconomowoc, Wis., with his dad and brother for 29 years and in 1989, he returned to Escanaba.

In 1995, Mick married Vicki Veraghen in Gladstone.

Mick was employed with WP Beverage as a fork lift operator for 18 years.

He enjoyed good times with family and friends, fishing, camping, and four-wheeling. Mick was an avid Detroit Lions fan.

Mick was baptized Catholic.

He is survived by his wife, Vicki of Escanaba; son, Mic Kolich of Escanaba; daughter, Nicole Kolich of West Allis, Wis.; brother, Michael Kolich of Escanaba; two stepbrothers, William (Patty) Seamandel and Robert (Chris) Seamandel of Oconomowoc, Wis.; three sisters, Jean (Bryan) Eagle of Perkins, Mich., Kate (Bill) Prest of Okauchee, Wis., and Millie (Fred) Niquette of Rapid River.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, Feb. 16, from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Crawford Funeral Home in Escanaba. The funeral service celebrating the life of Nicholas Kolich will be at 6 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Rick Courier officiating. A meal will follow in the dining area at the funeral home. urial will be in Gardens of Rest Cemetery in Wells. The Crawford Funeral Homes are assisting the Kolich family.
