GLADSTONE - Margaret A. (Carlson) Dahn, 70, of Gladstone, formerly of Hardwood, passed away peacefully, Wednesday evening, Feb. 2, 2011, at her daughter's home in Foster City following a 18 month courageous battle with cancer.
Margaret was born Oct. 20, 1940, in Hardwood, the daughter of Einar and Eleanor (Sipchen) Carlson. She was raised in Hardwood and attended the Foster City schools. Following her years in school, Margaret made her home, raised her family and spent the majority of her life in Hardwood. On May 19, 1990, Margaret was united in marriage to Courtney Dahn. Together the couple made their home and spent the last 21 years of marriage in Felch and Gladstone. Margaret loved to spend time with her family and friends. She enjoyed baking, gardening, feeding her birds and listening to Elmer Aho's Saturday night radio show. In addition, Margaret enjoyed spending time with her sisters in law, Marie, Doris, Sissy and Ramona and her brother in law, Garland.
Margaret leaves to survive: husband, Courtney Dahn of Gladstone; children, Willard Thoune Jr. of Foster City, Mich., James (Amanda) Thoune of Foster City, Mich., Michael (Deana) Thoune of Felch, Mich., Penny (Richard) Skogman of Foster City, Mich., Andrea Davenport of Gladstone, Jasen (Angie) Dahn of Neenah, Wis.; brothers and sisters, Mildred (John) LaPointe of Helps, Mich., Donna (Larry) Dillabough of Escanaba, Kay (John) Meader of Pennsylvania, Linda (John) Listle of Escanaba, Mike (Sandy) Carlson of Hardwood, Mich., Patty (Bernard) Kleikamp of Brampton. Also listed among the surviving family are 15 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and cousins whom she adored.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, Einar and Eleanor, and her brothers, Wayne "Coyote" and Bruce Carlson.
Margaret's family will receive friends on Thursday, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. EST at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone. Funeral services to celebrate the life of Margaret A. (Carlson) Dahn will follow visiting hours, at 12 p.m. EST at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone with Rev. Jonathan Schmidt of the First Lutheran Church officiating. Visiting hours will continue on Friday from 10 to 11 a.m. CST at the Mission Covenant Church, in Foster City. Funeral services will follow, at 11 a.m. CST at the Mission Covenant Church with Rev. Carl Hammer officiating. Luncheon will follow in the church fellowship hall. The Skradski Family Funeral Homes of Delta County are in care of arrangements.
