Community helps many good causes

November 27, 2010
Daily Press

This week's bouquets go to:

From Tanya Schuster:

"Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Bay Area would like to send a big thank you to all of our sponsors, vendors, volunteers and those who attended the Night to Indulge Event at the Island Resort Casino on Nov. 11. These fund-raising events are very important to the organization to be able to run direct services to our youth in the community. Thank you."

From Thomas Flynn of Gladstone:

"A big thanks to the staff at Advance Auto for hosting our cruise-ins this summer. A great time was had by everyone. A special thanks to the participants. We were able to donate over $500 this year to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation. Thanks everyone for that. We look forward to next spring."

From the Christian Park Center:

"We would like to thank the American Legion in Gladstone for honoring our vets on Veterans Day with a special dinner at the Legion. They did an awesome job and our vets really enjoyed themselves. We would also like to thank the VFW Post 2998 for donating money to the residents for halloween candy for our trick-or-treaters."

Each Saturday the Daily Press salutes individuals and groups from our area who have had a very positive impact on the way we live.

We identify our bouquet recipients in one of two ways: from Daily Press news pages and from nominations sent in by our readers.

Mail us a postcard or letter identifying your nomination and putting into detail what they've done. Include your name, address, and phone number. Send nominations to Saturday Bouquets, The Daily Press, 600 Ludington Street, Escanaba, MI 49829.

They may also be sent to us by going to our Web site, www.dailypress.net, and clicking on the Virtual Newsroom button. Once there, click on "Bouquets" and follow the simple instructions.
