Area trick-or-treat times set

Local trick-or-treating and Halloween carnival times have been announced. They include:

ESCANABA - Trick-or-treating in Escanaba is Saturday, Oct. 30, from 4-6 p.m. Webster Elementary will have a school carnival on Saturday, Oct. 30 from 12-2 p.m. Soo Hill Elementary has planned a school carnival for Saturday, Oct. 30, from noon to 2 p.m. Holy Name will have an All Saints Festival on Friday, Oct. 29, from 6-8 p.m. at the school.

GLADSTONE - A free community Trunk or Treat is scheduled from 1-2 p.m. with a Halloween Carnival from 1-3 on Saturday, Oct. 30 at Memorial United Methodist Church, 1920 Lake Shore Drive, Gladstone. Games, prizes and refreshments will be available.

Trick-or-treating in the city of Gladstone is scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 31 from 4:30-6:30 p.m.

BARK RIVER - Bark River has scheduled trick-or-treating for Saturday, Oct. 30, from 2-4 p.m. The school carnival will follow at the elementary school from 4-6 p.m.

RAPID RIVER - Community trick-or-treating in Rapid River is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 30, from 3-6 p.m. A carnival and haunted house for fifth grade and under will follow at the Rapid River High School from 6-7:30 p.m. Admission into the carnival is $5 per child (to play all games and win all prizes); $2 for the haunted house. There will also be a 50/50 raffle, guessing games, and food provided for an additional charge. The haunted house will be geared for fifth grade and under until 7 p.m.

A dance for students in grades 6-8 will take place at Rapid River High School from 8-10 p.m.

The haunted house will take a new and scary twist and will be available for anyone in sixth grade and up. Adults are welcome too. Admission into the dance is $3; $2 for the haunted house.

Days River Area Lions Club will host its annual children's Halloween Party, Saturday, Oct. 30, from 1-2:30 p.m. at the Days River Area Lions Club house, 6 miles north of Gladstone on M-35. All games are 25 cents.

There will also be a costume contest for children up to age 13.

The adult Halloween Party is scheduled from 8 p.m. to midnight the same day. Cost is $15 and includes music, beverage and food.

POWERS/SPALDING - Trick-or-treating is scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 31, in the Powers/Spalding area from 1-3 p.m. (CDT). A school carnival will follow at 3 p.m. in the Community Club in Hermansville.

PERKINS/ROCK - Trick-or-treating in Perkins/Rock is scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 31 from 4-6 p.m. A Halloween Carnival will follow at the Rock Lions Club from 6-7:30 p.m.

HANNAHVILLE - Trick-or-treating in Hannahville is slated for Sunday, Oct. 31, from 2-4 p.m. A Halloween carnival will take place Tuesday, Oct. 26, from 5-8 p.m. in the Youth Center.

CARNEY-NADEAU - Trick-or-treating in Carney-Nadeau is set for Sunday, Oct. 31 from 4-6:30 p.m.

HERMANSVILLE - Trick-or-treating will be held Sunday, Oct. 31 from 1-3 p.m. in Hermansville with a Halloween carnival to follow at the Hermansville Community Club at 3 p.m.

MANISTIQUE - Manistique has scheduled trick-or-treating for Sunday, Oct. 31 from 5-7 p.m.

GARDEN - Garden will have trick-or-treating from 3-5 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 31.
