DETROIT - Lew Vailliencourt and the former Edie Sheehan were married 50 years ago on June 18, 1960, at Our Lady Gate of Heaven Church in Detroit.

Original attendants were Bill and Ken Vailliencourt, brothers of the groom, and Sue Sheehan, sister of the bride and Jean Baker Morgan, cousin of the bride.

The couple were honored at a celebratory Mass at St. Anne's in Escanaba. An anniversary reception was held in a restaurant in Fenton, Mich., the same weekend (Aug. 13-14) the family gathered for the wedding of the couple's nephew, Tom Churchill.
