FUGAY-VARINA, N.C. -The former Courtney Gloria McGuire and Christian Carr Yerxa were united in marriage on June 12 during a 6 p.m. ceremony officiated by Penelope Morningstar. The ceremony took place on the beach in Wrightsville Beach, N.C.
A reception followed at the Shell Island Resort in Wrightsville Beach, N.C.
Serving as matron of honor for her friend was Sarah Lichterman. Bridesmaids were, Amy Pelletier, Lindsay (Pontius) Harper, Michelle (Mickelson) LaVigne, all friends of the bride, and Elisha McGuire, sister-in-law of the bride.

Best men were Gregory Yerxa, brother of the groom, and Ryan Derzon, friend of the groom. Groomsmen were Brandon McGuire and Joshua McGuire, both brothers of the bride.
Reader was Sally Brehm, aunt and Godmother of the bride.
Courtney is the daughter of David and Gloria McGuire of Manistique, and is a 1996 graduate of Manistique High School. She earned a bachelor's degree in management informations from Michigan Technological University in 2000, a bachelor's degree in biological sciences with a minor in genetics in 2006 from North Carolina University, and graduated with a master's degree in genetic counseling in 2010 from the University of North Carolina-Greensboro. She is employed with Lab Corp. in Durham, N.C.
Christian is a 1995 graduate of Appleton West High School and earned a bachelor's degree in atmospheric and oceanic sciences from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2000. He is a major (pilot) in the U.S. Air Force stationed in Pope AF base, N.C. His parents are Michael and Sandra Yerxa of Appleton.
After honeymooning in St. Lucia and Antigua, the new Mr. and Mrs. Yerxa are at home in Fuguay-Varina, N.C.
