Bouquets

Marina crew doing a top job

August 7, 2010
Daily Press

This week's bouquets go to:

- From Deborah Haines of Escanaba

I would like to thank the harbormaster, Larry Gravatt. and his dedicated and fine crew of dock attendants and harvester drivers for their excellent work this summer at the marina. Not only has our marina been spruced up and repairs made but the docks and walkways are kept clean and flowers watered for the enjoyment of everyone. The marina is a jewel as far as Escanaba is concerned, and we are fortunate to have such an excellent staff who try their level best to take care of each and every boater and visitor. Your efforts are much appreciated and have not gone unnoticed! You deserve a bouquet!

- From the Daily Press

Thank you to everyone who made the Daily Press Back-To-School and Children's Health fair a huge success. Hundreds of families were treated to a fun and informative time at the U.P. State Fairgrounds Sunday, Aug. 2. Whether you were a sponsor, vendor, volunteer, or participated in any way, your efforts contributed to the success of a great event and put smiles on the faces of many children.

Each Saturday the Daily Press salutes individuals and groups from our area who have had a very positive impact on the way we live.

We identify our bouquet recipients in one of two ways: from Daily Press news pages and from nominations sent in by our readers.

Mail us a postcard or letter identifying your nomination and putting into detail what they've done. Include your name, address, and phone number. Send nominations to Saturday Bouquets, The Daily Press, 600 Ludington Street, Escanaba, MI 49829.

They may also be sent to us by going to our Web site, www.dailypress.net, and clicking on the Virtual Newsroom button. Once there, click on "Bouquets" and follow the simple instructions.
