BARK RIVER - Dennis Urbanc married the former Elizabeth Murray 50 years ago on June 18, 1960, at St. Francis Xavier in Spalding. Attendants for the bride were Sharon Murray, Charlene Maki and Joann Urbanc, cousins of the bride, and Shirley Urbanc, sister of the bride. Standing for the groom were James Vandermissen and Leo Labre, friends of the groom, and Terry Murray, cousin of the groom. Ring bearer and flower girl were Robert Smith and Lynn Coplan.
An anniversary reception, hosted by the couple's son, Mark, and his wife, Lisa, is planned for July 3 at Fleetwoods Inn, Powers. A dance will be held in the Bark River Hall. The anniversary church service will include a renewal of vows at the home of Mark and Lisa, in Vulcan.
Dennis worked for 27 years at Harnischfeger Corporation before retiring in 1983, when the plant closed. He then worked part-time at E & LS Railroad as a welder/fabricator.

Elizabeth was a full-time homemaker.
The couple enjoys traveling on the motorcycle, and Elizabeth likes gardening.
The couple has six children - Todd (Mary) of Bark River, Mark (Lisa) of Vulcan, Mike (Susan) of Ohio, Dennis (Suzette) Jr. of Wilson, Robert (Michelle) of Wilson and Joseph (fiancee Tiffany) of Arizona.
They also have eight grandchildren - Renee, Scott, Melissa, Codey, Krista, Tosha, Trevor and Michael Urbanc.
Dennis and Elizabeth reside in Bark River.
