ESCANABA - The former Charlene L. LaMarch married Neil R. Carlson 40 years ago April 4, 1970, at St. Thomas Church in Escanaba.
Friends of the groom, David P. Klasell and James Hornblad served as groomsmen. Bridesmaids were Carol and Diane LaMarch, sisters of the bride.
A special Easter and anniversary dinner, honoring the couple, was celebrated with family.

Charlene and Neil Carlson
Neil retired from the Michigan Department of Consumer and Industry Services in 1997 after 36 years of employment. He is a member of the American Legion - Delta County Veterans Council Funeral Detail and enjoys waterfowl hunting.
Charlene is a pastoral associate of St. Anne's Church and also volunteers at Alliance Against Violence and Abuse. She enjoys travel and taking care of of her granddaughter, Sloane.
Both are Extra Ordinary Ministers at St. Anne's Church.
The couple has four children - Jodi Carlson, Holly (Greg) Thomma, Art Carlson and Catherine Carlson, all of Escanaba, and one granddaughter.
Neil and Charlene are at home in Escanaba.
