Bernier - Duchaine

ESCANABA - Nadine Andrea Bernier and Thomas Yong Duchaine became husband and wife on Dec. 18 during a 2 p.m. ceremony held at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Escanaba. Fr. Rick Courier presided. A reception immediately followed at the Danforth Place.

Maid of honor was Tarah Heitman, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Jackie Wolak and Michelle Derouin, friends of the bride.

Lorenzo Jones, friend of the groom, was best man. Groomsmen were Jesse Beauvais and Brandon Cantrall, friends of the groom.

Jorja and Spencer Heitman, niece and nephew of the bride, were flower girl and ring bearer.

Seating the wedding guests were Ryan Kelly and Steve Heitman, brother-in-law of bride and friend of the groom.

A 2007 graduate of Escanaba Area High School, Nadine is the daughter of Joseph and Cheryl Bernier of Escanaba.

A 2003 graduate of Escanaba Area High School, Thomas is the son of Thomas K. and Deborah Duchaine. He is employed at the Island Resort and Casino as a bartender and is a member of the United States Army Reserves in Marquette.

Nadine and Thomas currently live in Escanaba. They plan to move to Detroit in July for Thomas to pursue an engineering degree from Oakland University.
