Thanks for helping animals in need

March 6, 2010
Daily Press

This week's bouquets go to:

` From the Animal Shelter Staff and the DAAS Organization -

"We would like to send a special thank you to the American Legion Club of Gladstone who hosted a fund-raiser at their building on Saturday, Feb. 27. Darryl Hixon and Renae Defiore organized DJ Adams, Feedback, the Uptown Girls and other artists to sing/play at this fund-raiser. They served a lunch and had drawings for prizes throughout the night, raising over $700 for the DAAS which is greatly appreciated, especially in this time of deficit budgets. Dog and cat items and shelter needs were also donated by people coming to listen and dance to the music. Many, many thanks to all who participated.

` From Brenda Balenger, Gladstone:

"Big yubba dubba doo thanks to Mile Williams and anyone else responsible for creating another 'kid show' category at the cardboard classics. Thanks from the Flintstones, snowboarders, 3 Bretts and 'the mothers.'"
