The late “Grandma” Margaret Shampo, longtime foster grandparent at Gladstone’s Cameron School, is shown in this Next Generation Quartet file photo from 2005. Surrounded by her “children,” students in Leroux Strom’s first-grade class, Strom was sung to by the quartet by request of her family on Valentine’s Day. For the 17th year, The Next Generation Quartet will be singing love songs to Valentines all around the area Friday and Saturday, Feb. 12-13. The group will serenade a special person at home, workplace, a restaurant or a romantic place. There is a fee involved. For more information or to reserve the quartet for a set time/place, call 786-4798.
