Howerton - Hays

ESCANABA - The former Stephanie Marie Howerton married Bryan William Hays at Bethany Lutheran Church, Escanaba, on Oct. 10 at 3 p.m. Pastor Paul Mai officiated. The reception was held at the Island Resort and Casino.

Amber Nolde served as maid of honor for her friend. Bridesmaids were Shannon Howerton, sister of the bride, and April Milkiewicz and Meagan Guindon, friends of the bride.

Standing for his brother as best man was Jay Hays. Groomsmen were Chad Hays, brother of the groom; and Joe Wiltzius and Ben Booker, friends of the groom.

Joe Richards and Kyle Smith, friends of the couple, served as ushers.

A 2004 graduate of Escanaba Area High School, Stephanie is the daughter of Thomas and Wendy Howerton of Escanaba. She graduated from Lake Superior State University in 2009 with a degree in accounting, and is employed as a bookkeeper at Great Lakes First Federal Credit Union.

Bryan is the son of Gerald and Diane Hays of Escanaba and is a 2006 graduate of Escanaba Area High School. He is currently attending Bay College for marketing and is employed with A-1 Water Systems.

The couple honeymooned in Waikiki Beach, Hawaii immediately following the wedding and are at home in Escanaba.
