Barr - Burch

ESCANABA - Alison Faye Barr became the wife of Ernest Harold Burch Oct. 3 at Bethany Lutheran Church. Pastor Paul Mai officiated over the 2 p.m. nuptials. A reception followed at the Escanaba Country Club.

Mary Schwalbach, friend of the bride, was matron of honor.

Standing as best man for his friend was Bill Benolken.

Junior bridesmaid was Anna Burch, daughter of groom, and junior groomsman was Travis Burch, son of the groom.

Seating the wedding guests were Benjamin Barr, brother of the bride, and Karl Burch, brother of the groom.

The daughter of James and Sharon Barr of Escanaba, Alison is a 1988 graduate of Escanaba Area High School and a 1994 graduate of Bay de Noc Community College. She then attended Michigan State University, and later graduated from Northern Michigan University in 1996 with a bachelor's degree in social work. Alison is a home supervisor with Adult Learning Systems U.P.

The son of Judy and the late Harold Burch of Escanaba, Ernest graduated from Escanaba Area High School in 1986. After graduation, he enlisted in the Air Force from 1986-1990. He then attended New Mexico State University and Bay de Noc Community College, graduating in 1995 with an associate's degree in applied science. He is employed as a substitute aide for Delta-Schoolcraft ISD, and is also a YMCA volunteer.

Having made their home in Escanaba, the newlyweds are planning a honeymoon for later this year.
