GLADSTONE - Former Bark River resident Sharron Makosky became the bride of Gladstone resident Doug Hughes during a 1 p.m. Oct. 17 wedding ceremony at First Lutheran Church in Gladstone. Presiding over the nuptials was Rev. Devon Barrix. A reception followed at Bark River American Legion Hall.
The new bride was attended by her sister, Shannon (Makosky) Johnson, who served as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were: Amanda Hughes, sister of the groom; Cindy Groleau, cousin of the bride; and friends of the bride Joyce Castellon and Lisa Mabie.
The groom was attended by friend Eric Miron, who stood as best man. Groomsmen were: Adam Hughes, brother of the groom; Jason Solis, friend of the groom; and cousins of the groom Jeremy and Ryan Hughes.

Flowergirls were Karley Hughes, niece of the groom, and Morgan Makosky, niece of the bride. Ringbearer was Olin Johnson, nephew of the bride.
Serving as ushers were Shawn Makosky, brother of the bride, and Shayne Taylor, friend of the groom.
Daughter of Steve and Wanda Makosky of Bark River, Sharron is a 1995 graduate of Escanaba Area High School. She graduated in 1999 from Bay College, with an associate of business administration degree.
Son of Sharon Hughes and Ron Hughes, both of Escanaba, Doug is a 2002 graduate of Gladstone Area High School. He is employed by Bradfield Excavating.
The couple will depart on their honeymoon to Jamaica in late February. The newlyweds have settled in Gladstone.
