Boquets

December 26, 2009
Daily Press

This week's bouquets go to:

` From Dwaine Menard, Food Pantry Supervisor, St. Vincent de Paul:

"The St. Vincent de Paul Society would like to thank everyone who donated food to our pantry at Thanksgiving and throughout the year. Thank you to those who volunteered their time to help at Elmer's and Super One Foods with the Canathon. Thank you also to anyone who donated socks, underwear, hats, toys, gifts for the Angel Trees, etc. for our Christmas Baskets and to those who helped assemble and distribute the Baskets. We sincerely appreciate your generosity and continued support."

` From Karen and Rick Lancour

"Our son Chris, and we his parents, have so much to be thankful for, and at this time want to say how much we appreciate our own St. Francis Hospital. We sincerely appreciate the prompt medical attention that was given to our 32 yr. old son on July 28, 2009. He was treated in your facility for a brain aneurysm and was sent to Theda Clark Medical Center in Neenah, Wis., by helicopter where the aneurysm was repaired. Our son had no medical insurance at the time when this aneurysm happened, and is so grateful to find out that the financial assistance program at St. Francis will cover his bill completely. Again, a great big thank you to St. Francis Hospital and staff for all that you do for us, and our community. Merry Christmas to you all.

` From Bill Anderson of Escanaba

I would like to thank the following in their great response out on Portage point, Dec. 8 about 1:15 p.m. First I would like to thank Bob Smith, Delta County Central Dispatch, for his professionalism. Bob did a great job, even though I could barely speak. To Sheriff Gary Ballweg and the deputy who brought home my truck and dog. To Rampart EMS, St Francis ER. And a very special thanks to the lady who finished my 9-1-1 call for me.

` From Penny Rounce of Escanaba

Operation Santa Paws was another successful donation drive for the Delta County Animal Shelter. All donations were delivered on Saturday, Dec. 19. Shelter volunteers would like to send out a very heartfelt thank you to everyone that donated items. We know times are very difficult now and every little bit helps. With your support and kind generosity, these items will help care for the animals and make their stay at the animal shelter a little bit less stressful. A thank you to Shopko, Tractor Supply, Mel's Lawn and Garden, and Nyman Signs in allowing us to take up a little bit of their store space to make donations easier for the public.
