Greta Elizabeth Sironen McCartney and Kevin James Briere were united in marriage on June 21, 2009, at the Wesley United Methodist Church in Ishpeming. The ceremony was officiated by Bradley Hawes, a friend of the couple. A reception followed at Upfront and Company in Marquette.

Maid of honor was Alisa Minard, friend of the bride. Bridesmaids were Nicholle Uren, Beth Anne Allen, Alyssa Arseneau, Roxanne Brooks, and Jalina Olgren, all friends of the bride.

Best man was Joseph Blaylock, friend of the groom. Groomsmen were James Solomon, Brian Bismack, Andrew Bird, and Jesse Zambon, all friends of the groom.

Greta and Kevin Briere

The bride is the daughter of David McCartney and Jeanne Sironen-McCartney of Ishpeming. She is the granddaughter of James and Mary McCartney of Lansing and Francis Sironen of Negaunee and the late Uno Sironen. Greta is a 2005 graduate of Westwood High School and is currently attending Michigan State University working towards a degree in education and child development.

The groom is the son of George and Mary Briere of Bark River. He is the grandson of Phyllis and the late Oscar J. Larsen of Escanaba, and the late Ernest and Lorraine Briere. Kevin is a 2003 graduate of Bark River-Harris High School and 2007 graduate of Michigan State University. He is employed by His House Christian Fellowship as a campus minister at Michigan State University.

Following a honeymoon trip to Myrtle Beach, S.C., Kevin and Greta are currently residing in East Lansing.
