Jim proudly served his country during World War II in the U.S. Army Signal Service Group in the South West Pacific campaign.

He was a member of the Immanuel Baptist Church of Kingsford.

After the war, he and Eleanore settled in the family home in the beautiful Wisconsin countryside in Aurora and raised their four children: David (Dorothy) Weasler, Shawano, Wis.; Christopher (Mary) Weasler, Wausau, Wis.; Victoria (George) Weasler Kulczewski, Belleville, Wis.; and Jesse (Terry) Weasler, Gladstone.

Eleanore and Jim had eight grandchildren: Darron (Alison) Weasler, St. Charles, Ill.; Christy (Greg) Weasler Seaholm, Madison, Wis.; Damon (Heather) Weasler, Blanchardville, Wis.; Paul (Michelle) Weasler, Wausau, Wis.; Jennifer (Eric) Farnsworth, Marquette; Adam (Natalie) Weasler, Sun Prairie, Wis.; Luke Weasler, Austin, Texas; and Dru Weasler, Shawano, Wis; and 11 great-grandchildren.

During the past 16 years, Jim was very fortunate to have the companionship of his dear friend, Corlinda "Corky" Newingham of Aurora.

Jim worked for 33 years at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Iron Mountain before retiring in 1983.

He was preceded in death in 1989 by his beloved wife, Eleanore. Jim was a loving and kind husband, father, grandfather and friend and will be missed dearly.

A celebration of his life is being planned for a later date.

Memorials, which will help provide assistance and hope to other persons with Alzheimer's disease, their families, and future generations, may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 517 North Segoe, Suite 301, Madison, WI 53705 or on-line at alz.org.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at the William S. Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital for their kind and compassionate care of their father.

Please shed no more tears,

For my soul is at rest,

Just love one another;

Live life to its best.
