ESCANABA - Lyn Dwyer and Jeff Lemerand were married July 10 at St. Anne's Catholic Church in Escanaba. Rev. Michael Chenier and Rev. Francis DeGroot presided over the sacrament. The couple married on the 50th wedding anniversary weekend of the groom's parents. A reception followed the wedding Mass at Island Resort and Casino.
Cathy Dwyer, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. David Dewey, best friend of the groom, was best man.
Jane Karweick, friend of the bride, was flowergirl. Nephew of the groom, Connor Narsete, served as ringbearer.

Seating the wedding guests were Ryan and Andrew Gendreau, also nephews of the groom.
Lyn's aunt, Mary Maher, and Jeff's sister, Cathy Narsete, were readers. Marilyn Kapter, grandmother of the bride, recited the petitions. Serving as acolytes were seminarians Eddie Dwyer, brother of the bride, Nick Thompson and Ryan Ford. Music for the mass was provided by Philip VanErmen, Ilene Myers, Tom Knoll and David Hopp.
The new bride is the daughter of Ed and Crystal Dwyer of Escanaba. Lyn is a 2002 graduate of Escanaba Area High School. She received her bachelor's degree from Northern Michigan University in 2006 and her master's degree in communication from University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point in 2008. Lyn is a full-time communication professor at the College of Southern Maryland in LaPlata, Md.
The new groom is the son of John and Susan Lemerand of Wells. A 2005 graduate of Northern Michigan University, Jeff received a bachelor's degree in political science and business administration. Jeff works full-time as a sales and marketing director for a defense contractor in Bethesda, Md.
The new Mr. and Mrs. Lemerand enjoyed honeymoon trips to Mackinac Island and the Southern Caribbean. The newlyweds have made their home in Silver Spring, Md.
