Zachary Derocher, 14, of Bark River, downed this eight-point, 150-pound buck Nov. 15 at the Derocher camp near Bark River. He’s been hunting with his dad for two years, but this is his first kill. He said “I didn’t see much opening day, but went out in evening when I had just about given up and a doe came in followed by my buck. My heart was pounding, but I managed to take the shot.
