WELLS - Marrietta E. Carroll, 65, Wells, passed away Thursday, Nov. 19, 2009, at home with her daughters and sister by her side.
She was born on Aug. 22, 1944, to the late Otto and Thelma (McConnell) Carroll in Mancelona, Mich.
Marrietta was a member of the Escanaba Eagles #1088 and is a past president of the Auxiliary. She was also employed at NewPage for 30 years.
Amongst Marrietta's many pastimes, she was excellent at needlework and loved volunteer work, cooking, baking, remodeling her home, working in her yard, dancing, and hosting different parties at her home.
She is survived by: two daughters, Karie Bonneau and Barbara Master; six sisters, Eilene (Ken) Buelher, Karen Rockafellow, Gloria (Bruce) Stevens, Pamela (Paul) Blevins, Colletta (Brian) Ole and Diana (Keith) Kushion; three brothers, Russell Carroll, Dennis (Jane) Carroll and Ric (Kelli) Carroll; nine grandchildren, Cory, Ernie, Brandon, KelCee, David, Misha Annlisha, Abigail and Andrew; numerous great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Marrietta was preceded in death by: her parents; one brother, Jerry Carroll; infant twin granddaughters; and a niece, Denise.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 23, 2009, at Allo Funeral Home in Escanaba with an Escanaba Eagles #1088 Auxiliary service at 1:45 p.m.
A funeral service to celebrate Marrietta Carroll's life will follow visitation at 2 p.m. at Allo Funeral Home on Monday with Pastor Lewis Hague officiating. A luncheon will be served at the Escanaba Eagles after the services.
