FORT COLLINS, Colo. - Thomas Patrick Finlan Sr., 65, of Fort Collins, Colo., formerly of Green Bay, died unexpectedly on Nov. 14, 2009.
Born on Dec. 18, 1943, in Escanaba, he is the son of the late Daniel and Regina (Germaine) Finlan. Tom is a graduate of Escanaba Holy Name High School and Ferris State University.
He was a dedicated employee and a well-respected pharmacist at Shopko for many years. Most recently he worked in the same capacity at Safeway.
Tom enjoyed an active life that included golfing and biking as often as he could, as well as skiing in Steamboat Springs, Colo. Tom was looking forward to retiring so that he could spend time at his home in Port Charlotte, Fla.
Tom is survived by two loving daughters, Anne (Jonathan) Ugval of Grosse Pointe Farms, Mich., Amy (fiance, Jeff Mayes) Finlan of Denver, Colo.; two adoring grandchildren, Evie and Tommy Ugval; two sisters, Jeanne (Scott) Johnston of Oxford, Ohio, Joanne (Rand) Coolman of Fort Collins, Colo.; and three nephews, Kevin and Christopher Johnston, and Tyler Coolman.
He was preceded in death by his son, Thomas Patrick Finlan, Jr.; as well as his parents.
Visitation will be at Malcore (East) Funeral Home, 701 N. Baird Street, Green Bay, Saturday, Nov. 21, 2009, from 9 a.m. until the procession to St. Philip the Apostle Church. Funeral Mass will follow at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Philip the Apostle Church, 312 Victoria Street, with Rev. Dave Pleier officiating.
Burial will be at Allouez Catholic Cemetery in Green Bay.
In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, donations can be made to the Tom Finlan Scholarship, c/o Preble High School 2222 Deckner Avenue, Green Bay, WI 54302. The scholarship was established in memory of Thomas Patrick Finlan Jr. following his tragic passing in 1987.
