ESCANABA - Cassandra Collegnon of Escanaba and Scott Richer of Bark River announce their engagement to be married.

The daughter of Jane Collegnon of Escanaba, the bride-to-be is a 2007 graduate of Escanaba Area High School. Cassandra graduated from Bay de Noc Community College in August of 2008, having earned a licensure as a practical nurse. She is currently working toward attainment of a registered nurse license in December, following completion of an associate's degree in nursing.

The future groom is the son Jim and Joan Richer of Bark River. A 2006 graduate of Bark River-Harris High School, Scott plans to graduate in December from Bay de Noc Community College with a degree in criminal justice. He is employed with PSI in Escanaba, as a security guard.

The couple is planning a Jan. 23, 2010, wedding at Bethany Lutheran Church in Escanaba. A reception will follow at the Bark River Senior Center.
