MADISON, Wis. - Dan and Sue Salmon of Bark River, along with Sue Bigelow of Escanaba and Stephen Bigelow of Crystal Falls, announce the engagement of their children, Melissa D. Salmon and Matthew J. Bigelow, both of Madison, Wis.

The bride-to-be is a 2002 graduate of Escanaba Area High School. She is currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in early childhood development while working as the infant teacher at Harmony Montessori House, a preschool in Madison.

A 2004 graduate of Escanaba Area High School, the future groom earned a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Michigan Technological University. He is employed as a graduate engineer at Realtime Utility Engineers in Madison.

Melissa and Matthew are planning an Aug. 14, 2010, wedding in Escanaba.
