ESCANABA - Melissa Lynn Bonifas and Richard Scott Ness were united in marriage Sept. 5 during an intimate riverside service at their residence in Ford River. The ceremony was officiated by Mark Hager.
Melinda Heitz stood as maid of honor for her mother, with Jennifer Pietsch and Jennifer LaChance also attending for the bride. Ringbearer-flowergirl was Madeline Sophia Bonifas, niece of the bride.
Standing for the groom were: Erik Bonifas, brother of the bride; and Randy Ness and Rick A. Ness, sons of the groom. The ceremony was officiated by The bride's aunt, Loretta Albert, was accompanied on the piano by Kate Bonifas, sister of the bride.

The bride is the daughter of Greg and Linda Yagodzinski and James and Linda Bonifas, all of Escanaba. Melissa is 1988 graduate of Escanaba Area High School. She received a bachelor of science degree from Northern Michigan University in 1994 and is currently a registered representative at Raymond James Financial Services in Escanaba.
The groom is the son of Roy and Lola Ness of Escanaba. Richard is a 1981 graduate of Escanaba Area High School. He is a partner and acting superintendent in his family's business, Roy Ness Contracting and Sales in Escanaba.
