ESCANABA - Ed and Lea Peacock's 60th anniversary was celebrated June 14 at the Rapid River Lodge. The couple had attended dances at the former Dutch Mill, and school picnics at the park. They both grew up in the Rapid River area and met each other while attending high school.
A story board display depicted their courtship and marriage. Sixty red roses commemorated their years together, and a large diamond crystal symbolized their diamond anniversary.
At the party were their four children - Karen Peacock from Sheboygan, Wis., Joe (Nancy) from Menominee, Mark (Lynn) from Gladstone, and Laura (Rob) Manninen of Cornell, along with seven of their eight grandchildren and their spouses and 10 of their 11 great-grandchildren.
