MANISTIQUE - Mandy Marie Wood became the bride of Christopher Ryan Spettel during a May 30 ceremony at St. Francis de Sales Church in Manistique. Father Glenn Theoret performed the double-ring ceremony. A reception was held at the Little Bear Arena.
Maid of honor was the bride's sister, Chelsea Wood. Bridesmaids were Candace Wood, sister of the bride, Deanna Barton, Nicole Tuttle, Sarah Maddox and Heather Tiglas, friends of the bride and Jessi Zellner, cousin of the bride.
Serving as best man was Rob Ryan, friend of the groom. Groomsmen were Donald MacPhail, uncle of the bride, B.J. Tiglas, cousin of the groom, Ben Carlson, David Winkel, Jason Rochefort and Jason Arnold, all friends of the groom.

Steve Strasser was the soloist, accompanied by Patty Faketty on piano.
Daughter of Brian and Lori Wood, the new Mrs. Spettel is a 2004 graduate of Manistique High School and a 2008 graduate of Northern Michigan University with a degree in elementary eduation. She is employed with Manistique Area Schools as an elementary Title I and art teacher.
Son of George and Sandra Slining, Chris is a 1996 graduate of Manistique High School and is employed with Western Lime in Gulliver.
The newlyweds are making their home in Manistique.
