NEWBURG, Pa. - Mary C. Wert, 80, of Newburg, Pa., died Tuesday, July 28, 2009, at home.

Born May 10, 1929, in Philadelphia, Pa., she was a daughter of the late Agostino Francesco Romaulda Camilla and Agilda (DiMarcello) DiMemmo. She was the widow of James M. Wert, whom she married Dec. 23, 1949, in Millborne, Pa.

Mrs. Wert was a member of the Carlisle Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph DiMemmo.

Surviving are three daughters, Darlene Young, and her husband James, of Galax, Va.; Melissa Richardson, and her husband Dan, of Newville; Judy Wilson, and her husband Dale, of Newburg; six sons, Jim Wert, and his wife Kathy, of Belle Haven, Va.; Jessie Wert, and his wife Jean, of Orrstown; Elvis Wert, and his wife Pam, of Newburg; Richard Wert, and his wife Sara, of Rapid River; Duane Wert, and his wife Lin, of Newville; Marty Wert, and his wife Dawn, of Newburg; a sister, Jean Brophy, and her husband Tom, of Los Cruces, N.M.; four brothers, Rudolph DiMemmo, and his wife Pat, of Holmes, Pa.; Caesar DiMemmo, and his wife Connie, of Newburg; Frank DiMemmo, and his wife Brigitte, of Ooltewah, Tenn.; Pasquale DiMemmo, and his wife Patty, of Steelton; a sister-in-law, Rita DiMemmo of Warrington, Pa.; 32 grandchildren and 60 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. today, July 31, from the Carlisle Church of Christ, 971 Walnut Bottom Road, Carlisle. Burial will be in Limestone Cemetery near Escanaba. Visitation will be at the church today from 2:30 until 4 p.m.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society for the Pancreatic Cancer Research, 3211 N. Front St., Suite 100, Harrisburg, Pa 17110.
