GLADSTONE - Joan Z. Amann, 81, of 8267 N.7 Lane, Gladstone, passed away Monday afternoon, July 27, 2009, at St. Francis Hospital in Escanaba.

Joan was born Jan. 3, 1928, in Port Huron, Mich., the daughter of Benhart and Ruth (Hewett) Olson.

Joan was employed with Gladstone Public Schools for several years.

Survivors include her husband of 62 years, William L. "Bill" Amann; three sons, Mike (James Nissen) Amann of Bay View, Wis., Jeff (Kathy Popa) Amann of LaGrange, Wis., Matt (Diane) Amann of Gladstone; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; one brother-in-law, Edward (Joyce) Amann of Sebewing, Mich.; and one sister-in-law, Mary Cox of Pontiac, Mich.

According to Joan's wishes, private services were held at the family home. Memorial contributions in memory of Joan may be directed to the Gladstone Public Library.
