ESCANABA - Dorothy H. Anderson, 86, 2111 24th Ave. S., Escanaba, passed away at her home Thursday afternoon, July 23, 2009, with her family at her side.

She was born in Bark River on April 20, 1923, the daughter of Ralph E. and Hazel M. (Turnquist) Gasman. She attended the Sunnyside School in Bark River and then the Bark River School until she transferred to the Escanaba High School for her last two years. She graduated in 1940.

On Feb. 3, 1943, Dorothy married Kenneth W. Anderson in Bark River. He preceded her in death on Dec. 4, 2006.

Dorothy worked as a teller for Bark River State Bank and the State Bank of Escanaba. She then was employed for the city of Escanaba as an account clerk from 1966 to 1986.

Kenn and Dorothy moved to Surprise, Ariz., in 1986 and spent an enjoyable 10 years there and made many wonderful friends. They then moved back home to be close to family.

She was a member of United Evangelical Covenant Church.

Among survivors include three daughters, Linda (Bob) Dlugas of Escanaba, Bonnie (Jim) McDonough of Escanaba and Kerry Kellerman of Bailey, Texas; grandchildren, Todd and Tracy Dlugas, Rob and James McDonough, and Nicole Gatlin; great-grandchildren, Travis, Ryan, and Melissa McDonough, Jamie, Haillie and Brett McDonough, and McKenzie Kellerman and Kilee Boyd; a great great grandson, Carter McDonough; sisters, Edie Holmes, Ellen Ann (Thomas) Lutes, and Ethel (Jim) West; and a brother, Louie Gasman.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Kenneth; son-in-law, John D. "Skip" Kellerman; and siblings, Hubert, Marilyn, Catherine, and John.

The family will greet friends and relatives from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. on Monday, July 27, at the Crawford Funeral Home in Escanaba. The funeral service will follow at 5:30 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Nathan Langager of the United Evangelical Covenant Church officiating. A luncheon will follow the service.

Inurnment will be in the Gardens of Rest Mausoleum.

Memorials may be made to the United Evangelical Covenant Church. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

The Crawford Funeral Homes are assisting the Anderson family with arrangements.
