Barbara Louise Murray
MOUNT MORRIS, Ill., - Loving wife, mother and grandmother, Barbara Louise Murray, 64, died Saturday, June 13, 2009, at St. Anthony Medical Center in Rockford, Ill., following a sudden illness.
She was born Oct. 6, 1944, in Escanaba, the daughter of Eli W. and Veda (Willson) Bellefeuil. She graduated from Powers-Spalding High School, Class of 1962. She married Wilfred A. "Bill" Murray on Feb. 16, 1963, in Spalding.
Barb was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Oregon, where she was very active serving as Eucharistic Minister to the homebound. Barb and Bill were foster parent to many infants and young people for several years through Catholic Social Services. She was a volunteer for the Ogle County Hospice, she was active in the family business Spectrum, Inc., and loved to socialize with her quilting group, but her primary attention was given to her family.
She was predeceased by her parents and stepmother Della, and two sisters, Jean Erickson and Betty Naser. She is survived by: Her husband, Wilfred "Bill" Murray of Mount Morris; four children, Keith (Alana) Murray of Oregon, Dean (Kim) Murray of Oregon, Julie (Kevin) Rude of Mount Morris and David Murray of Oregon; three brothers, Don (Betty) Bellefeuil, John (Donna) Bellefeuil, and Bob (Sandy) Bellefeuil; one sister Rose (Earl) St. John; nine grandchildren, Abby, Jared and Nathan Murray, Ashley, Morgan and Garrett Rude, Eli, Matthew and Sarah Murray and many nieces and nephews.
Christian Funeral Mass was held at 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, June 17, 2009, at the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Oregon with the Rev. Richard Kramer officiating. Burial was in the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.
