ESCANABA - The former Sharon Ann Gouin of Escanaba was united in marriage with Daniel David Lindquist of Bark River on April 1, 1969.
The couple was surprised with a party held in honor of their 40th wedding anniversary, hosted May 24 by their children.
Dan has worked his entire career on the railroad, beginning in 1970 with Soo Line railroad, later Wisconsin Central and now Canadian National. He is currently a boom-truck operator working out of the Gladstone yard. He enjoys watching his grandchildren's sporting events, working outdoors, hunting and going to camp.

Through the years, Sharon has worked as a cook for several area restaurants, including the Great Wok in Bark River and the Island Resort & Casino. She enjoys watching her grandchildren's sporting events, cooking, baking and playing the slots at area casinos.
Sharon and Dan are residents of Bark River. They have three children - Sherri (Robert) Viau, Tom (Melissa Kregelka), and Mary (Steve) Groos, all of Bark River - along with eight grandchildren - Tyler, Travis, Maddison, Delaney, Caitlin, Bryson, Chloe and Gabriel.
