GLADSTONE - Dorothy "Dot" and Thomas "Tom" Beaudrie, Gladstone, celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary Jan. 22.
The former Dorothy Futchik and Thomas Beaudrie were married in Sault Ste. Marie at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Mary (Giacoletto) McNaughton and Otto McNaughton served as maid of honor and best man.
Prior to assuming her full-time job as mother of six, Dorothy worked at the Pittsburg Steamship Company in the Soo.

Tom worked as the Chippewa County Land Surveyor before working for the Michigan Department of Transportation in the Alpena and Lansing Districts. In 1965, the Beaudrie family moved to Newberry. Tom was employed as the District Highway Maintenance Superintendent for the Michigan Department of Transportation. He worked with the County Road Commissions in the six eastern U.P. counties until his retirement in 1984.
Dorothy and Tom moved from the Curtis area to Gladstone in May of 2000.
On Jan. 24, Dot and Tom's six children and their families surprised them with a weekend visit and a dinner at the Terrace Bay. Their children are: John (Matilda) Beaudrie of Searcy, AR.; Diane (Marvin) DeMilio of Marquette; Susan Wellman of Birmingham; Nancy (Jerry) Eckelberry of Hillsdale; Debra (Jeffery) Stieve of DeWitt; and Kathryn (Paul) Walters of Gladstone.
Dorothy and Tom also have 17 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
