Bjorkquist - D’Antonio

ESCANABA - John and Geri (Bjorkquist) D'Antonio of Escanaba, celebrated their golden wedding anniversary Jan. 24. The couple plans to celebrate with family and friends at a party to be hosted by their children Aug. 1.

John and Geri were married Jan. 24, 1959, in the chapel at Fort Lewis Army Base in Washington. The ceremony was officiated by Chaplain Lt. Col. George A. Lehman. Attendants were Bill and Ann Landree.

The couple's early life was spent in Colorado, Washington state, Milwaukee and Germany. John and Geri are both active members of St. Patrick/St. Joseph's Catholic Church. They enjoy traveling, socializing and sharing a sense of humor.

Geri is the daughter of the late Walter and Lillian Bjorkquist of Escanaba.

John is the son of the late Gennerro and Santa D'Antonio of Ironwood.

The couple has two daughters - Angela Oberg of Denver and Theresa (Jeff) Norton of Gladstone. They also have two grandchildren - Matthew and Kayla Oberg of Denver.
