GLADSTONE - Ryan Smart scored 25 as Island Resort & Casino defeated Lindquist Trucking/Gladstone Super Value 45-38 in Gladstone Fossil League basketball Wednesday. Scott Lenards tallied 10 for Lindquist.
Wayne Arts hit for 19 to help First Bank outscore Wally's Bar 58-37. Lionel Wolf tallied 10 for Wally's.
Biggby whipped The Saloon 71-46 as Pat Wakefield hit for 25. Mike Fitzpatrick scored 12 for The Saloon.
Jeremy Barron scored 25 as Beauchamp Builders battled to a 68-45 win over Skradski's/Art's Construction.
Jason Lippens scored 14 for Skradski's.

Young's superb
effort keys Bucs
APPLETON - Jordan Young had a double-double for a guard Monday as Wisconsin-Marinette beat Fox Valley Tech 65-62 in men's basketball.
The sophomore from Escanaba had 21 rebounds and 11 points. The win snapped a three-game losing streak for the Bucs (9-4), who had been idle for 24 days.
Sophomore Eric Kutches of Escanaba added 12 points for Marinette.

Jets' basketball alumni event slated
POWERS - The third annual North Central alumni basketball tournament will be held Saturday. A double elimination tournament will be held during the day, with the championship game following the North Dickinson-North Central boys varsity game (6:30 EST tipoff).
