OSF raffle offers $100 monthly

ESCANABA - OSF St. Francis Hospital Auxiliary members are selling Calendar Raffle tickets to give away $3,700 in cash. Raffle tickets are being sold in the hospital Gift Shop and by Auxiliary members and volunteers through Dec. 9. Tickets are $10 each. Top prize each month is $100.

The first drawing for the 2008-2009 calendar season will take place at the Auxiliary Christmas luncheon on Wednesday, December 10th. Two $100 cash prizes will be awarded, along with two $50 prizes and four $25 prizes. From January through November, 2009, seven names will be drawn each month, with prizes of $100, $50 and $25 awarded.

A total of $3,700 will be given out during the year. Winning names are put back into the raffle drum, so ticket holders can win every month.

"Tickets make great Christmas gifts and stocking stuffers," said Lanna Scannell, community relations manager and director of volunteers at OSF. As with all Auxiliary fund-raisers, she noted that all proceeds from the raffle event will be used to provide needed new equipment and services for St. Francis patients.

Last year, through the Calendar Raffle, "Lights of Love" event, gift shop sales and other events, Auxiliary members raised over $60,000 to help purchase the following: new waiting room furniture; televisions for the new John & Melissa Besse Emergency Department and Walk-In Center, scheduled to open in spring 2009; a new patient room service program; and a cardiac simulator for the Emergency Department.

One drawing remains for the 2007-2008 Calendar Raffle. Winning names will be drawn Nov. 5. Following is the list of names drawn to date.
