MANISTIQUE - The Manistique Lake northside boating access site is scheduled to re-open Oct. 27. It was closed this week for dredging and boat repair.
The project consists of mechanically dredging a turning basin and channel to enhance and improve boater safety and maneuverability out to deep water. The concrete boat launch ramp also will be extended as part of the project.
Until repairs are complete, boaters are encouraged to use Cooks Bay, County Line or Curtis boat access sites, also located on Big Manistique Lake.
For more information or updates about this project, contact DNR field manager James Hooker at (906) 293-5131.
