OAHU, Hawaii - Jon Cuneo, 46, loving son and brother and 25-year resident and business man of Oahu, Hawaii, has gone to be with his Savior, Jesus.
Jon was a member of Calvary Chapel Windward for 15 years and founder and president of First Financial Management.
He was born in Philadelphia, Penn., and raised in Escanaba, and Atlanta, Ga.
He entered the Navy after high school, and rose to the rank of Petty Officer 2nd class, eventually being stationed at the Naval Air Station, Barbers Point, for five years.
Jon fell in love with Hawaii and never left.
He was a self-employed real estate entrepreneur for several years following his Naval career and worked in a variety of other positions, teaching himself computer technology, bookkeeping, accounting, taxes and computer systems management. He then founded First Financial Management, providing data processing, accounting and tax services, and data servers for small to mid-sized businesses, and brought the very first integrated medical billing and records software system to Hawaii.
Jon was an incredibly talented musician and served as pianist for the worship team at his church. Jon was also brilliant, having a remarkably agile mind and ability to absorb and process huge quantities of information. He was a fantastic cook and loved entertaining.
Jon was a kindhearted and generous person and we will all miss him greatly. Recently, Jon suffered several years of serious health setbacks.
A memorial service will be held at Calvary Chapel in Aiea, Hawaii on Oct. 4.
He is survived by his mother, Joyce Hamilton of Honolulu, Hawaii; his father, Ed Cuneo (Faye) of Orlando, Fla.; his brother, Michael Cuneo (Mary Ann) of Albuquerque, N.M.; and brothers, David Hamilton (Becky) and Richard Hamilton (Terry) of Oklahoma.
