ESCANABA - Gary and Therese Jenshak celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Aug. 29. A special marriage blessing was bestowed upon them during a 4:30 p.m. Mass at St. Anne's Church by Fr. Fran DeGroot and Deacon Mike LaBeau.
A dinner celebration for immediate members of their family followed at Pacino's in the Best Western Pioneer Inn hosted by their four children. A congratulatory card was also received form President George and First Lady Laura Bush.
Therese Ann Boudreau became the bride of Gary Lee Jenshak Aug. 16, 1958, in a ceremony at St. Anne's Church.

Maid of honor was the bride's sister, Mildred Jenshak (Lokken). Bridesmaids were Merna Jenshak, sister-in-law of the groom, and the late Joyce Casey Morin.
Best man was Wilfred Boudreau, brother of the bride. Groomsmen were Robert Jenshak and the late Roger Jenshak, brothers of the groom.
Serving as flower girl was Joanne Boudreau Flynn, sister of the bride, while Thomas Simons, cousin of the groom, served as ring bearer.
Gary was employed at Clairmont Transfer most of his working years and retired from Groos Common Carrier in 1991. He enjoys swimming at the YMCA, and he also likes to hunt.
Therese worked several years at Riverside Auto and part-time at the D&N Bank. She is a volunteer for OSF Auxiliary, the Delta County Genealogical Society and St. Anne's Church.
Both Gary and Therese are members of St. Anne's Church and are frequently busy attending their grandchildren's sporting events.
Gary and Therese have four children - Bruce Jenshak of Escanaba, Janet (Thomas) Coplan-Zeni of Iron Mountain and Key Largo, Fla., Brad (Phyllis) Jenshak of Bloomington , Ind., and Kris (John) Eger of California, Md.
The couple also has six grandchildren - John Eger II, Brett, Codi, Nicholas, and twins Bryan and Becky Jenshak, in addition to two step-grandchildren, Jessica and Jordan Zeni.
