BMX racting returns to Trenaray track

TRENARY - A field of 18 riders in five motos participated in races at Trenary Lions Park Wednesday.

7 Novice - 1, Andrew Niemi, Marquette; 2, Beau Rondeau, Limestone; 3, Mathew Johnson (3 years old).

8 Intermediate - 1, Kennan Johnson; 2, Michael Johnson; 3, Brendon Golisek, all of Marquette. Kennan was crowned State Champion at Northstate BMX last weekend in 7 year olds.

10 Novice - 1, Gage Nutt, (Gage was also named State Champion in 10 year olds); 2, Zachary Hallinen; 3, Alex Kittell, Trenary.

11 Intermediate - 1, Connor Hetrick; 2, Brian O'Neill; 3, Alex Niemi all of Marquette. Alex Niemi was also named State Champ in 9 year olds.

In 17/18 Intermediate, Trevor Rochefort of Munising took first, 2nd Michael Grange of Marquette, 3rd Dahli Bates of Marquette.

Trevor Rochefort was named State Champion in 14 years olds and also in 14 year old Cruiser division. Michael Grange is the State Champ in 17 year old boys while Dahli Bates is State Champ in 16 year old girls.

Emma Niemi, State Champ in 11-13 Girls Cruiser, competed against the boys in the 11 Intermediate Class and took a 4th place.

Marquette Northstate BMX will hold races on the next four Thursdays and the Trenary Lions will host racers on Sept. 10 and 17. The last race of this season will be on Sept. 20 at Northstate BMX in Marquette.
