MANISTIQUE - Paul Sobieski and Julian Davani hit two goals each Monday, helping the Big Bay de Noc Black Bears post a 6-0 soccer victory over Manistique.
Davani scored both of his goals 36 seconds apart, giving the Black Bears a 3-0 advantage late in the first half.
"That was a huge momentum builder right before the half," said Big Bay coach Todd Chambers. "Paul Sobieski and Julian Davani played quite a bit up front in the first half. We're real happy with them, and Austin Radebaugh and Randy Lang put some nice crosses into the box.
"Overall, we're happy with the way the kids are putting things together. We're moving people around, trying to find the right spots for everyone."
Sobieski scored midway through the first half and nearly 15 minutes into the second half, with Jordan Hyland and Tyler Root getting assists.
Root scored on a header 3 minutes later. Hyland, who also assisted on Root's goal, finished the scoring 24:08 into the second half.
Colton Ranguette and Stan Johnson shared goaltending duties for Big Bay (2-1), which outshot Manistique 48-23.
"We played everyone, but it didn't happen right away," said Chambers. "One thing I'll say about Manistique is they'll play hard right to the end. Manistique has a nice up and coming ball club, and they're young yet."
