PRESCOTT - During an Aug. 9 ceremony at the Methodist church in Portland, Mich, George and the former Donna Warder became husband and wife in 1958. The couple moved to Gladstone in 1971, where they raised their family while George worked for Mead Paper.
After George's retirement in 1999, he and Donna relocated to Prescott, Mich., where they continue to reside during the summer months. In the winter, the couple makes their home in Lake Placid, Fla.
In honor of their 50th wedding anniversary, George and Donna have planned to spend a long weekend on Lake Michigan with their children and their spouses Lori (Cin) Dine, Ken (Liz) Becker, Doug Becker and his girlfriend, Jen, and Joan (David) Page.

The Beckers also have 10 grandchildren - Lainie, Devin and Natalie Dine, Bradley, Kaleigh, Shane (Brooke) and Danielle Becker, Tyler and Sophia Page, and Brittany (Josh) Ford.
