Schermer - Robinette

SCHAFFER - Harold and Carol Robinette celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary July 19 with a Mass of Thanksgiving at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish.

The former Carol Schermer married Harold July 19, 1958, at Sacred Heart Church in Schaffer, with Father Arneth officiating.

Maid of honor and best man were Viola and Clinton Juneau, both deceased. Bridesmaids were Carol's sisters, Phyllis Lippens, Lorraine Raether and the late Nancy Fisher. Groomsmen were Reggie Robinette and Jim Cousineau.

The Robinettes have resided in Schaffer for 50 years and have raised three sons. Joe resides in Chandler, Ariz.. Tim, who has been in the military service for 30 years and is stationed in Japan with his wife, Mary Jo, and children Steve and Michelle. Dale lives in Poway, Calif., with his wife, Barbara, and daughters Taylor and Jordan.

Harold was employed with the C&NW Railroad for 37 years. Carol worked for Kresge/Kmart company for 27 years.

Harold takes great pride in his yard and garden. They enjoy biking hiking, golfing and spending time with their family. Both are members of the Highland Golf Club.

Harold has been on the Sacred Heart Cemetery Board for many years. He was also involved with the Schaffer baseball program for several years.

Both are eucharistic ministers at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish. Carol was a CCD teacher for several years and served on the parish council. She was also a member of the Highland Golf Club Board.

They were both very involved in the fund-raiser for the parish retreat, spending many hours making Christmas wreaths.

Harold and Carol spend six months in Tucson, Ariz., and enjoy the pool, golf and all the social events in the park.

A trip is planned to celebrate the anniversary at a later date.
