Sting targets identified

MARQUETTE - The FBI has released the names of 19 out of 20 suspects arrested on federal, state and tribal drug charges. The arrests include individuals from Wilson, Escanaba and Gladstone.

The arrests were the culmination of a nine-month investigation by the FBI's Upper Peninsula Safe Trails Task Force, (UPSTTF) the Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team and the Hannahville Tribal Police Department, according to a news release from the FBI.

The recently-formed UPSTTF - a task force comprised of federal, tribal, state and local agencies - is responsible for investigating violent crimes on the five Indian reservations in the U.P.

The 20 persons arrested were:

Peter Compo Sr., 56, Mount Pleasant, charged with one federal count of distribution of marijuana and vicodin, one federal count of distribution of vicodin, one federal count of conspiracy to deliver marijuana and vicodin, and one federal count of conspiracy to deliver marijuana.

Reed Keezer, 55, Wilson, charged with one federal count of conspiracy to distribute marijuana.

Edna Keezer, 60, Wilson, charged with one federal count of conspiracy to distribute marijuana.

Lesley Munroe, 40, Wilson, charged with four federal counts of distribution of marijuana and one federal count of distribution of marijuana, oxycodone and dihydrocodeinone.

Michael Wandahsega, 36, Wilson, charged with two federal counts of distribution of marijuana and one federal count of distribution of marijuana and dihydrocodeinone (vicodin).

Alexander Sagataw, 25, Wilson, charged with two federal counts of distribution of marijuana and one federal count of distribution of marijuana within 1,000 feet of a school.

Kevin Halfaday, 34, Escanaba, charged with three federal counts of distribution of morphine and one federal count of distribution of oxycodone.

Joyce Wandahsega, 28, Wilson, charged with one count of distribution of cocaine, one federal count of distribution of amphetamine, and one federal count of distribution of oxycodone.

Lucas Sagataw, 24, Wilson, charged with three federal counts of distribution of marijuana.

Dawn Halfaday, 38, Escanaba, charged with two Delta County counts of aiding and abetting the delivery of a controlled substance (morphine and oxycodone).

David Joslin, 43, Escanaba, charged with one Delta County count of delivery of marijuana, one Delta County misdemeanor count of maintaining a drug house, and one Menominee County count of delivery of marijuana.

Ryan Beaver, 17, Gladstone, charged with one Delta County count of delivery of a controlled substance (adderall).

Heidi Carlson, 34, Wilson, charged with one Delta County count of aiding and abetting the delivery of controlled substance (alprazolam).

Jeffrey Carlson, Jr., 38, Wilson charged with one Delta Count count of delivery of a controlled substance (alprazolam).

Jason Wandahsega, 37, Wilson, charged with one Hannahville Tribal count of possession with intent to manufacture marijuana and one tribal count of possession of drug paraphernalia.

Francesca Smith, 22, Wilson, charged with one Hannahville Tribal count of delivery/sale of marijuana and one tribal count of delivery/sale of cocaine.

Charles Meshigaud, 25, Escanaba, charged with one Delta County count of delivery of marijuana.

Edward Meshigaud, 33, Wilson, charged with one Delta County count of possession of a controlled substance (vicodin).

Jesse Wandahsega, 33, Wilson, charged with one Delta County count of possession of a controlled substance (vicodin).

An unidentified Wilson man, 21, was arrested on one federal count of unlawful flight to avoid prosecution, one tribal count of delivery/sale of marijuana, and one Delta County count of delivery/manufacture marijuana.

Assisting the two drug task forces and Hannahville Tribal Police were Escanaba Public Safety, Delta County Sheriff's Department, Menominee County Sheriff's Department, and State Police from the Stephenson Post.

The investigation continues and additional arrests are anticipated, officials said.
