ESCANABA — Rev. Peter H. and Marilyn (Reuschel) Andersen were married 40 years ago July 21, 1968, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Golden, Ill. They will celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary Sunday, June 29, from 2 to 4 p.m. at Christ the King Lutheran Church, Escanaba. Church members, friends and family are invited to attend.

Marilyn is originally from Golden, Ill., and Peter is from Wheaton, Ill. Both are 1967 graduates of Carthage College in Kenosha, Wis. Peter is also a 1971 graduate of Lutheran School of Theology, Chicago.

After 24 years of ministry in Illinois, the couple moved to Escanaba in February of 1994. They have served at Christ the King Lutheran Church since that time. Marilyn is also a musician at the church and has worked in the Escanaba school district since 1994.

The couple has one son, Philip, an artist who resides in Marquette.
