K-Dance Express: Dance revue

Over 100 students from K-Dance Express dance studio are scheduled to present their 2008 dance revue from 2-6 p.m. Saturday at the Manistique High School Auditorium.

Performers ages 3 to 70 from Escanaba, Manistique and Newberry will present tap, jazz and ballet routines to the theme “TV Programs.” A portion of the review will feature dance routines performed to a variety of music genres.

“My students have enjoyed learning dance routines to the theme songs of their favorite TV shows,” said Kalisa LaVigne, K-Dance Express owner. She added that it was interesting presenting theme songs from older shows with which her students are too young to be familiar.

The revue includes a reunion of former students who will revive a tap routine to “Stomp,” which involves dancing atop garbage cans.

Other features will include K-Dance Express “Dancing Grannies” and “The Dancing Moms,” each performing tap routines.

The K-Dance Express staff is comprised of Kalisa LaVigne and her daughters Schlyn and Trisha LaVigne, along with Lauren Norkooli, Christine Casselman and Sabrina Wing. Receptionists Jill Johnson and Jennifer Wing are also included.
