In 1971 the couple moved to Gladstone, and Bob was employed as the company pilot for Clairmont Transfer Company. In 1985 the Garcias started A. M. Express, Inc., a trucking company, which they sold in 1998. Upon retirement the couple moved to Florida, but recently returned to Escanaba to be closer to family and friends.
Bob and Suzan have three children — Lisa (Keith) Detweiler of Hansville, WA; Jennifer Swazay or Albuquerque, NM; and Daniel (Jackie) of Wausau, WI. They also have three granddaughters and two “bonus” grandchildren in Washington.
